Blue Canary-60 years of history. Blue Canary – brilliant, popular in the 50’s song, and now almost forgotten, the creation of Italian-born Vincenzo Fiorino (who worked in a team with Paul Whiteman). The lyrics of the song was translated into several languages and is represented in this set in a variety of versions recorded different years.

Renate Holm performed this song in German! She did it originally, lyrically, almost like a romance. By the first time I disliked the arrangement, but I had inverted my opinion after multiple runs through.

The spanish version of "Blue canary" is sung by Elder Barber (born Elda Perla Barbero in Cordoba, Argentina, 1934), and the spanish lyrics belongs to Ben Molar ( Moises Smolarchik Brenner, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1915) , famous Argentinean song writer. This composer has written ballads, boleros, tangos, songs for movies, and also spanish versions for songs of The Beatles, Paul Anka, Bill Halley and Chubby Cheker.

• in English version boy-canary comes to sad girl-canary "to chase her blues away";
• in Italian version someone listens a sad canary song in the garden, and he is in melancholy too;
• German and Spanish variants, which are similar to each other, and perhaps one is a direct translation of another, woman remembers her lost love, which was accompanied by canary song; but now only the song left.
